Young Company: Choreographer, Shrek: The Musical Jr

Stacey brings 26 years of dance experience to Young Artists’ Theatre. Starting dance at the age of 3 in Waterdown, Ontario, Stacey has studied a range of dance styles from contemporary, jazz, hip hop, modern, tap, ballet, African, Acro and musical theatre at various dance academies. She has danced competitively from the age of 8. Stacey has trained with the Canadian National Tap Team (2007-2009) & Canadian National Jazz Dance Team (2009) as well as the Matthew Clark Dance Company, competing in world dance competitions in Germany, Poland and Spain and taking home 3 gold medals from the experience!  She also was a part of the Tap Reloaded European dance tour (2010), performing in Malta, Switzerland, Austria and Germany with tap dancers all over the world. 

Stacey continued to develop her dance training at the University of Auckland in New Zealand for 3 years (2011-2014). As she completed her studies, Stacey moved to Alberta where she taught many dance styles at Mi Dance Academy for 4 years (2014-2018) instructing ages 3-18 both competitively and recreational. She then moved back to New Zealand in Hawke’s Bay where she started teaching at Sophie Jean Dance Company in 2019 as well as private lessons at Iona College and has been continuing to teach and build their dance community there.

She is extremely passionate and believes in providing a dance education that is fun, inclusive and inspiring for all ages & levels! Stacey currently has a limited time back home in Ontario and is excited to be working in amongst the theatre and collaborating with all the young artists!
